Using the Xgig 6Gb/s Wide-Port Blade with Standard 6Gb/s SAS/SATA Cables
Congratulations on your purchase of the Xgig 6Gb/s SAS/SATA Wide-Port Blade. We are confident that this blade, in conjunction with the Xgig platform and software, will provide you with a superior 6Gb/s SAS/SATA test platform. The Xgig 6Gb/s Wide-Port Blade exclusively utilizes Mini SAS x4 (SFF-8088) connections. What you connect on the other side is up to you. To get the most out of your 6Gb/s test platform, it is important to use high-quality cabling to connect the Xgig to your devices under test. The diagrams shown above detail many of the standard cable options available for connection of the Xgig to other devices, along with the Finisar part numbers where applicable. If you plan to use the Xgig for multiple functions on a single blade, you may also want to reference the Xgig 6Gb/s Wide-Port Blade Cabling Guide, a reference for these more complex connections.
